About this retreat

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was developed at UMass Medical School in 1979. Forty years of clinical research later, it remains one of the most well-studied approaches to managing stress, chronic pain, and anxiety. This 5-day immersion covers the complete MBSR curriculum in a condensed format, led by a certified MBSR teacher. Kyoto's temple district provides the perfect environment: quiet, beautiful, and entirely unhurried. Suitable for complete beginners and those with existing meditation experience.
